# noust self-update

Let this server install Noust's own new releases: when, which, and what it did.

```bash
noust self-update [OPTIONS] [COMMAND] [ARGS]...
```

Subcommands: [`run`](#noust-self-update-run), [`set`](#noust-self-update-set), [`show`](#noust-self-update-show)

## noust self-update run

Decide and, if the settings say so, install a new release now (the timer's command is --scheduled).

```bash
noust self-update run [OPTIONS]
```

| Option | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| `--scheduled` | Run as the timer does: only inside the window, on a chosen day, once per window. | |
| `--json` | Print the run as JSON. |  |
| `--reason` | Why this change is made (a change reference, a ticket). Recorded with the command in the audit log; required only where a compliance framework asks for it (ENS) or security.change_reasons is on. | |

## noust self-update set

Change the settings of the automatic update; what is not given stays as it was.

```bash
noust self-update set [OPTIONS]
```

| Option | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| `--enable`, `--disable` | Switch the automatic update on or off. |  |
| `--channel` | security: only a release that fixes a vulnerability. patch: also patch releases of the minor it runs. stable: also a new minor. A new major is never installed by itself. | |
| `--window` | The hours it may start in, on the server's clock. | |
| `--days` | The days the window opens on. |  |
| `--json` | Print the settings as JSON. |  |
| `--reason` | Why this change is made (a change reference, a ticket). Recorded with the command in the audit log; required only where a compliance framework asks for it (ENS) or security.change_reasons is on. | |

## noust self-update show

Show the settings of the automatic update, its timer and its last run.

```bash
noust self-update show [OPTIONS]
```

| Option | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| `--json` | Print the settings and the last run as JSON. | |
| `--reason` | Why this change is made (a change reference, a ticket). Recorded with the command in the audit log; required only where a compliance framework asks for it (ENS) or security.change_reasons is on. | |
